Attorney Marc Schneider's practice focuses primarily on litigation in federal and state courts, where he represents both individuals and small and mid-size businesses. Marc has extensive experience litigating employment matters including wrongful termination, discrimination in the workplace, retaliation under the Pennsylvania Whistleblower Law, violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and Unemployment Compensation rights. Using the knowledge he has developed from handling these matters in the courtroom, Marc works with his corporate clients on policy creation and the handling of personnel matters to prevent litigation before it starts.
In addition to the handling of employment matters, Marc's litigation practice also actively involves civil rights, contract and commercial disputes, personal injury, and defamation. As Steele Schneider's only attorney licensed in West Virginia, Marc also defends the Special Education Rights of West Virginia students.
Marc is a member of the Pennsylvania and West Virginia state bars, and he is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia, the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
He is an honors graduate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. While at Pitt, Marc participated in the University of Pittsburgh Elder Law Clinic where he assisted the local indigent elderly population a variety of elder law and estate planning issues. Marc is also an honors graduate from the Pennsylvania State University, where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Philosophy, with a minor in legal studies.
Originally from Kittanning, Pennsylvania, Marc now resides in the North Hills with his wife, Nikki, and his two daughters, Molly and Margot. Outside of the office, Marc enjoys playing and watching soccer, attending concerts, and hiking and camping.
