Sean Merritt joined Steele Schneider in April 2021, where he is an Associate Attorney whose practice focuses on civil litigation.
Sean is a Western Pennsylvania native who grew up in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Saint Vincent College in 2015, magna cum laude, and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2018.
While in law school, Sean gained valuable litigation experience through internships with the Honorable Judge Michael H. Wojcik of the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania and the City of Pittsburgh Zoning Board of Adjustment. Additionally, Sean participated in the University of Pittsburgh School of Law's Sikov Elder Law Clinic, in which he provided free legal assistance to low-income individuals and families in matters of estate/incapacity planning and guardianships.
Before joining Steele Schneider, Sean proudly served as the law clerk to the Honorable Judge John W. Hodge of the Court of Common Pleas of Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, during which he handled cases spanning a plethora of practice areas, from medical malpractice to family law to serious criminal matters, and became intimately acquainted with each stage of litigation, from pleadings to trial.
Sean currently resides in Cranberry Township and in his free time enjoys listening to music, learning about local history, biking and exercising, following Pittsburgh sports, and spending time with family and friends.
